Too good to be true?
So the CRIA is quietly falling apart. Not sure how this will impact ipod users in Canada exactly, or if it will just become less relevant as time goes on, or actually cease to be.

RIAA says you can't rip CDs to your ipod anymore
Once upon a time it was considered fair use to purchase a CD, rip it to your computer and transfer the files to your portable MP3 player (aka. ipod). Now the RIAA are trying to suggest that activity does NOT constitute fair use.
They also say that making a backup of your music CD is also not fair use.
Thank God I don't live in America. Although that generally only gives us a temporary reprieve before the lunacy spreads north.

This applies to all politicians
This idea is great - give the senators (or Members of Parliament) ipods, or other digital media devices for them to use. Only then will they have a better understanding of how the technology works and how the laws they are writing will impact said use.
You thought this blog was dead, didn't you? Yeah, me too.
